Why be concerned about mental health?

The chart demonstrates the impact churches and faith-based organizations make in serving the most vulnerable persons. The efforts far surpass other community support systems. Faith-based organizations account for 63% of all food pantries, 60% of all emergency housing, and 73% of substance abuse programming. Still, there is one area in which the church has been largely absent: mental health.
